Hello all you Sharks and Minnows!!!!
Shark week is a week that many people from all over look forward to and enjoy each year. Shark Week originally premiered on July 17, 1988. Featured annually, in July or early August, it was originally devoted to conservation efforts and correcting misconceptions about sharks. Over time, it grew in popularity and became a hit on the Discovery Channel.
Sharks are incredible!! Weighing in up to 500 to 5,000 pounds, sharks are one of the oceans to predators. Sharks have thousands of teeth. Most sharks have 5 rows of teeth, and can have as many as 3000 teeth at once! It's a good thing sharks never run out of teeth, as they lose up to 100 per day.
In honor of hark week, I thought I'd share some fun idea to celebrate the week with.
Round candy molds make it easy to transform your favorite cookie into a candy-coated grinning shark. Just fill the molds with melted blue candy and press a cookie into the melted candy. Alternatively, you can dip cookies in melted candy and place them on a piece of parchment paper to firm. Use melted candy to pipe fin and tail shapes on the paper, and attach them to the cookie using more melted candy. Attach two black bead sprinkles for the eyes, and pipe red melted candy into half-moon shapes for the mouths. Pipe white melted candy onto the red candy to create 'teeth' for a sinister smile.
