Good Morning Everyone,
National Teacher Appreciation Day, also known as National Teacher Day, recognizes the dedicated educators across the country. Teachers play a critical role in education and shaping our children. The help mold them in to the future leaders that the will become. Teachers are kind, patient, hard-working, dedicated and understanding. We entrust our kids with these teachers and they help affect their daily lives.
The National Education Association describes National Teacher Day “as a day for honoring teachers and recognizing the lasting contributions they make to our lives.”
With school ending in March, we all had to learn a new way to help educate our kids. With Zoom meetings going on across the world, kids have been able to still meet with classmates and teachers and work together and finish their year strong.
I have had some amazing Teachers/coaches in my life and not just in a school setting. I have had amazing mentors who have taught me and encouraged me. They have helped shape the person that I am today. Without those individuals taking the time to work with me and seeing the potential that I didn't see, I don't know where I would be. Today we honor those who take the time to teach us and give them a big Thank You for all they have done. Here are some ways to celebrate those teachers:
Write a Thank you letter and mail it to your Teachers
Refill supplies
Ask them what they will need for their classroom when things open back up
Volunteer in the classroom
Get a little gift to say thank you. They love gas cards or Starbucks cards
I not only want to recognize the Teachers that we rely on so much for our kids, but I want to recognize you. Yes you!!! You have had to step up and home school your students for a few months now. I know that can not be easy. You have googled things, cried, been frustrated, cheered, and loved your kids to help make sure that they still finish this year strong. I've seen parents give there kids prom by decorating the house. I've also seen parents be more involved with there kids and make amazing memories with them. As hard as these past few months have been, these kids are getting to spend extra time with their parents when they may not have had that same opportunity with our crazy, busy work schedules. As hard as COVID-19 has been, its also bee a little bt of a blessing to slow down and spend time with family.
In honor of all of those who teach us in schools, on the field, in life and at home, THANK YOU!!!! You are the reason why a lot of us are here. Keep doing the amazing work that you do and may you be honored in amazing ways today!! Have a fantastic day!!
