Good Morning,
In a galaxy far, far away.....
Today is National Star Wars day and I couldn't be more excited. I am a HUGE Star Wars fan. I have loved the movies and everything that goes with it. It has been a huge part of my life since I was a kid. I have loved every character and connected with many of them. I loved watching Ray become a Jedi and Princess Leia leading the resistance. I have watched and quoted the movies several times and even have Star War stuff in my office.
Thousands of Star Wars enthusiasts celebrate this day each year with parties and celebrations around the nation. " May the Fourth be with you," or is it , "May the force be with you?"
With many of us celebrating from home this year, there are lots of ways to celebrate today. Here are some of my favorites!!
Dress up:
I love a good dress up day and today is one of the best. You can dress up like a Jedi or a Wookie. If you don't have a costume, you can wear one of your many Star Wars shirts. I know I have my Millennium Falcon shirt on today.
Crafts:
There are lots of fun and amazing crafts you can do online. You can make your own robot to look like BB-8 or you can even make your own lightsabor.
Simply take a old pool noodle and tape the ends with black tape to look like a handle. The kids will have fun for hours and they learn to become Jedi's. There are so many fun crafts that its hard to pick a favorite. Here is a fun link with some that uses things you may already have at your house.

Watch a Film:
There are so many amazing movies that you could enjoy. They even have cartoons that tie in with the series. Pick your favorite and watch it. Or better yet have a Marathon!!! I know that when The Mandalorian came out on Disney Plus, it was very hard to wait a week for a new episode. Who doesn't love baby Yoda?? Which ever movie or show you choose to watch, make sure you enjoy it with a fun Star Wars snack.
Snacks:
Many people love to make Star Wars themed snacks. From blue milk to Yoda pancakes, there are lots of fun and easy snacks that you can enjoy.
Tie Fighter Snacks:
Ingredients:
Graham crackers
Big marshmallows
Peanut Butter
Use the peanut butter to "glue" the marshmallow in between the Graham crackers to look like the tie fighter. Kids will love this snack as it soars across the living room.
Star Wars Pretzels:
Ingredients:
Big pretzels sticks
12 oz bag of white chocolate chips
Food coloring
- In a double boiler, melt your white chocolate. Prepare three separate smaller bowls and divide the white chocolate evenly. Add your food coloring (red, green, and blue) to each of the bowls of white chocolate, so you have three bowls each with a separate color. Note: if you are using liquid food coloring your white chocolate may seize, so it's best to use gel. However, if you are using liquid food coloring, be prepared to gently reheat your chocolate so it can better mix with the food color. Dip your pretzel rods into the chocolate, one chocolate color per pretzel; leaving a small amount uncovered at the base. Tap the pretzel gently over the bowl to remove any excess chocolate. Let dry on a parchment lined baking sheet.
Whatever way you choose to celebrate today have fun doing it. Maybe today you show your kids the magic of Star Wars and introduce them to the movies. It's amazing how we have all grown up in different generations enjoying the different films. Make some new memories with your kids and have a fun day inside. Here is an amazing clip that's so fun to watch and will make you excited to celebrate today. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=up3Y_yQIma8
May the Fourth be with you all!!!
