Crafts with nature!!

Posted on April 21, 2020 at 10:53 AM by Tiffany Miller

Good Morning!!!
It has been beautiful weather this week. It's a perfect week to be outside with your kids going on walks or enjoying nature. One of my favorite things to do is to sit outside and listen to the birds sing. The beautiful robins fly all around my house and fill the air with their songs. It's a great way to just sit and relax and be in the moment. My mind is clear and the stresses of whats going on around us is gone.

Today I thought it would be fun to make some bird feeders with everyday objects you already have. With us celebrating Earth Day this week, this is a perfect way to reduce, reuses, and recycle.

There are so many amazing ways you can build some bird house with objects you already have at home. It's a great way to get the kids involved and be creative. Here are some of my favorite.
Orange Peel Bird Feeder:
This bird feeder is not only a great snack for your little ones, but a great way to feed the birds. Simply cut your orange in half. Remove the orange from the inside but save the peel. Once the kids are don't with their snack, take some sticks and feed them through the orange half. Add some string on the ends to hang into a tree and fill with bird seed. Daily Messes: Orange Bird Feeder
Can Bird Feeder:
This craft is super easy and leave lots of room for creativity. Simply take your cans and wash and dry them. You can screw them into a piece of wood in different patterns or drill a hole and add some string to hang into a tree. You can paint the cans to add some color or a sweet welcome sign. The birds will love whatever you do.

Peanut Butter Bird Feeder:
Of course there is always the classic peanut butter bird feeder. I did these a lot as a kid and loved them. You can add the peanut butter on a pinecone or any other object you have in your house. Lets the kids get creative with it. The birds will love the extra surprise with their bird seeds.

There are so many amazing and fun ways to get involved and creative with your bird feeders. You will have an amazing time sitting outside enjoying the birds that come and feast from your feeders. I'm sure they will give you lots of songs of gratitude for you to enjoy. Make sure you tag us on our ERC Face book page with what you create. Have a fun and awesome day.
