Parent Workshops
Parent Workshops will be led by Teresa Taylor-Williams (affectionately known as “Coach Mama T”), a school social worker and licensed mental health therapist in Emporia. The daughter of a coach and former high school athlete, Teresa brings years of experience as both a sports mom and Mental Performance Coach for an AAU travel basketball league in Overland Park. She is a member of the Alliance of Social Workers in Sports and serves on the Clinicians Committee for Athletes for Hope, a national nonprofit organization.
Supporting Sporty Kids: A Workshop for Parents of Student Athletes
Sports today look much different than 20 years ago! In this interactive workshop, parents will explore healthy ways to encourage participation while recognizing signs of concern such as anxiety, injury trauma, identity struggles, burnout, poor sportsmanship, peer pressure, and performance pressure.
