On August 28 the Emporia Recreation Center bus will be headed to
the Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens for a guided tour of 13 gardens and more than 1700 species of beautiful plants; trails that traverse rocky bluffs and bottomland paths; 180 acres of prairie home to native grasses and wildflowers; fauna, including birds, dragonflies, deer, snakes and other wildlife. We will have a picnic lunch at the arboretum then head over to the Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead to see the animals.
After School program at Logan, Riverside, Walnut, William Allen White/Turning Point, Timmerman, and Village elementary schools. You must provide your 2018/2019 Food Service Eligibility letter to receive reduced fees. We will keep a copy on file for the school year. Your child may not attend until paper work and payment are received.

A mental and physical challenge! It is dancing, it is thinking, it is teamwork. Moving in rhythm to the music keeps you physically fit!
This program will stress the fundamentals of basic offensive and defensive skill development for 4th- 6th graders. It will focus on developing bumping, setting, spiking, blocking and serving. Communicating as a team and demonstrating sportsmanship will also be stressed.
