    The Maple Leaf festival is a Baldwin City community event that started in 1958. This is an amazing opportunity to view the changing colors of the Maple leaves and enjoy the harvest. This amazing event has over 300 craft exhibits, quilt shows and displays, performing arts, music, unique food items and activities for the family. This Festival is the biggest fall family event in the area and is sure to please. Come join us as we enjoy the festival and the colors of Fall. Lunch not included.

We will explore natural areas such as Campus Woods, King Lake and the native plant gardens around ESU’s Prophet Aquatic Research & Outreach Center to make observations and better understand the living world that surrounds us! Participants will learn about the variety of strategies that plants and animals use to survive colder months such as migration, dormancy and hibernation among many

    other interesting behaviors and adaptations. From hiking and exploring, to recreating metamorphosis into dramatic skit or art project, we will encourage individuals to think more deeply about the

    wonders that live right outside our doors. *Please bring a sack lunch for each day.
