The original item was published from March 26, 2020 12:29 PM to March 26, 2020 12:58 PM

It's been 4 days, 3 hours and 36 mins since Ive been at home and counting. I'm sure like you, you are feeling the frustration of being at home. Not to mention the anxiety of everything thats going on in the world around us. The unknowns are the worst part.  You are now having to homeschool your students when you forgot how to do 5th grade math and if you hear them scream one more time you are going to take away DisneyPlus.

Enter Creation Station!! My name is Tiffany and I'm the Program Supervisor here at the Rec Center. I am in charge of the programs like RecXtra, Beyond the Bell, and Summer Camps. With over 20 years experience with students, I really want to take this opportunity to help and say your not alone. I want to create some ideas for you to help with your everyday new normal and help encourage you parents. Every Thursday there will be content on our Facebook page along with thing that I post here to help. We are in this together!!

I wanted to be real and tell you that I too am feeling the anxiety of it all. I have feelings of being overwhelmed and wasn't really sure what to do. I decided to put on some music while I cleaned my kitchen and before I knew it I was dancing. I was laughing and being silly. For a few mins I wasn't thinking of what was going on around me. I was having fun!! It's amazing how music can do that for us. I decided to even schedule that in my day. Have my own dace party. It helps me be active and clear my mind. So today I am encouraging you to have your own dance party. See how it goes. Let the kids pick the songs. Create your own dance moves to that song. Be silly and let go. It's a way to create memories with your students. It also helps your kids to see you in a silly setting. As much as we want to keep our worries and stresses away from them, they see it. So take this opportunity to dance it out even for yourself. I promise you will feel better.

Go on youtube and type in Just Dance. It will pull up songs with the dance moves like you are playing the video game and all you have to do is follow the moves. Your kids will love it!!
