Pooch Plunge
Does your dog have a special talent? Is he/she the fastest fetcher or maybe the best dressed in town? Come put that talent on display during this special event just for dogs.
This fun-filled and family-oriented event will give interested parties an opportunity to bring their dogs and compete in contests with a category for every dog. Your dog will also enjoy our annual Pooch Plunge where we turn our pool over to the dogs.
Planned activities include contests, pet portraits, vendor booths featuring a variety of dog-related items, representatives of area animal rescue groups, and much more. The first 50 dogs registered will receive goody bags and there will be lots of prizes and giveaways. Part of the proceeds will benefit the Buck Fund.

- Dogs only - no other pets
- Dogs must be at least six months old
- All dogs must have all current vaccinations
- Female dogs in season are not allowed
- Unruly participants will be asked to leave
- Owners must be in control of pet(s) at all times
- No children under 18 years of age allowed in the water - NO EXCEPTIONS
- Adults may only enter water up to hip-depth
- Pet owners will be provided with plastic bags at admission - please practice pet etiquette and clean up after your dog and dispose of the bag
- Dogs are allowed only in the main pool; they are not allowed on the diving board

Halloween Costume Party
Buying a costume can be expensive and making one takes a lot of time, make sure your little goblin gets the most out of their costume this Halloween. Come to the Emporia Recreation Center for a costume contest, games and a candy scramble of course.
